This Artwork is inspired and based on Vintage Scientific Drawings. It is also related to the Artwork "Der Schmetterling" which is inspired by a childhood story that I am particullarly fond of: "Die Werkstatt der Schmetterlinge" (The Butterfly Workshop, a book by Gioconda Bell)
A tale of an Artisan dreaming of creating a creature that is somewhere in between an insect and a bird, but as beautiful as the rainbow.
This is how I imagine the colourless insects of the story and the first attemps of creating butterflies.
